The Trump administration is proposing to invest $1.4 trillion over the next 10 years in the construction of a $200 billion fish farm in South Carolina, according to a draft of a new farm plan obtained by The Wall St. Journal.
The proposal, seen by the Journal, would allow the U.S. Department of Agriculture to spend up to $1 billion on the farm, which would be operated by the company Finsbury Farms.
The fish farm would be in the South Carolina-based company’s $100 million Fish Creek Farm.
The Trump transition team declined to comment on the plan when reached by the Wall St Journal.
Fish farm would likely be built near the state’s main fishing grounds, and would likely require some sort of dredging or dredging work, according the draft.
