A man who died after being thrown from a horse at the Hillsborough Stadium has been named as Riley.
Riley Jones, of Shrewsbury, was riding his horse, Jeezy, in the area of the field where the game was being played when he was hit by a car and died, a Hillsborough Police spokesperson said.
A post-mortem examination has been ordered into the incident.
Mr Jones, from Shrew’sbury, had been with the Hillsboro football club for a couple of years.
His wife, Susan, who lives in Sheffield, has been campaigning for a memorial at the stadium, where Liverpool fans have been protesting against the death of the 96 victims of the Hillsburn football stadium disaster.
“I’m just glad that he’s finally made it out alive,” she told the Sheffield Tribune.
“The Hillsborough memorial is a long way off.
Hopefully it will be something.”
More to come.
